1:1 Newborn Photography Mentoring
1:1 Newborn Photography Mentoring with KAP!
Hello and welcome again! I was honored to spend a full day of 1:1 Newborn Posing Mentoring with a lovely up-and-coming Photographer who came all the way from Kansas to learn from me.
After an introduction and receiving my booklet full of newborn posing workflow, lighting, angles and more info, we went over the basics and practiced on a StandIn baby until our first model arrived.
A little boy with the most beautiful thick black head of hair arrived, and he was such a handsome little man!
However, as it goes, the little man was not in the best mood for us but just like any real client session, we went with the flow and worked on other posing techniques and props suited for a more colicky baby.
After some convincing, he ended up being a star and we got through a lot our scheduled posing. This was such a great lesson for a new photographer to experience…
because even the pros have to adjust when things don’t go as exactly planned!
After lunch we excitedly awaited our next baby of the day, who arrived right on time! A little girl named Hunter!
Baby girl did not disappoint, she was just so darn sweet and not to mention sleepy! We were able to do quite a lot with her, ensuring Charli could learn my flow posing, while allowing enough time for her to ask questions and receive answers.
Charli was able to assist me in workflow and even have some awesome hands-on experience, heavily assisted by me. She did great!
Have a look at some behind the scenes images from our day, below!
Also, check out her progress(pictured in the ‘Student Work’, before and after image) made in as little as two and half weeks after her mentoring with me! In addition, she was able to use the same baby, 3 weeks apart, so you can really see the transformation!
With my 1:1 mentoring and continued online education, Charli has really taken her work to the next level. I can’t wait to see more of her work in the coming weeks!
Additionally, with my editing guidance, actions and video tutorials. She has gone from editing a single image in an hour and a half, to editing a single image in ten minutes! That’s serious progress and I’m so extremely proud of her!
“Kayleigh really knows her stuff! She’s very patient and quick to answer questions. I highly recommend learning editing and posing with her.” - Charli
